Striking and surprisingly light these bracelets created using dried and sliced Tagua nuts will help you stand out from the crowd.

The jewellery is handmade in a women’s cooperative near Otavalo, Ecuador. The cooperative was formed to allow the women to stay close to home as they raise their children. The cooperative also gives the women an opportunity to work creatively as they provide a sustainable income to their families.

The Tagua nut grows naturally as an integrated part of the forest and harvesting the nut does not harm the tree. This kind of sustainable jungle harvesting provides local people with a sustainable income and helps prevent clear cutting the Amazon for forestry and farming purposes.

CARE NOTE: As natural dyes are used in the creation of these products, prolonged exposure to direct sunlight may slightly fade the colour over time.
